VELARDE’S WALLED SCULPTURE GARDEN, THE BACKDROP TO OUR BEAUTIFUL GALLERY SPACE, IS A SOUTH-WEST FACING retreat offering VISITORS a chance to IMMERSE THEMSELVES IN THE beauty OF ART AND NATURE.

This peaceful sanctuary has been thoughtfully designed to showcase remarkable sculptures within a carefully planned landscape of native plants. Staying true to our green and ethical values, we aim to encourage local wildlife by creating an environment that attracts birds and insects. 

The sculptures in our garden highlight a wide range of talent, from local artists in Devon to renowned British sculptors from across the UK. Among them is acclaimed artist Peter Randall-Page RA with work directly from his Dartmoor studio, alongside Jilly Sutton's signature head pieces and the elegant bronze sculptures of Antonio Lopez Reche. Abstract works by British sculptors Sam Shendi MRSS and Richard Perry are complemented by vibrant pieces from Patricia Volk FRSS, as well as a hanging installation by sculptor Clee Claire Lee MRSS. In addition to the artists showcased, we are connected to a wide network of sculptors extending beyond those featured in our current display. 

The garden itself includes a water feature and wildlife pond, and a structured scheme of trees, shrubs and gravel paths amid borders filled with Cornus alba Elegantissima, Teucrium Lucidrys, Cornus Flaviramea and other native and exotic flowers.
