Sue Williams A’Court graduated with a BA in Illustration from Brighton Polytechnic and now lives and works in London. Her practice explores the notion of the visual sublime within painting, collage and drawing, by taking historic and re-imagined landscapes as a starting point for her works.
In 2014 she was shortlisted for The Threadneedle Art Prize, and in 2017 she was nominated for the FID Drawing Prize. She has also been selected for the The Jerwood Drawing Prize, the John Moores Painting Prize and The National Art Open exhibition, as well as The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. Her work is held in public and private collections in the UK Europe and the USA.
